What is a concrete Paver?
A paver is a pre-cast “brick” of concrete used in exterior hardscape surfaces. Paver “stones” are installed over compacted base & sand. Since these concrete “tiles” are not grouted they are free to expand & contract unlike a slab of concrete. Sand is placed between each paver to create the perfect amount of stability. Pavers have a very high PSI (pounds per square inch) strength of 7000- 8000psi compared to concrete slabs normally poured at 2000-4000psi. Most pavers are around 2 ½ inches thick
